Do I need to 'Let Go' of my desire to get it?

A question that many of my clients ask me is "Do I need to let go of my desire to get it?". This is a subject in hot debate amongst the law of attraction community. Many people insist that you need to let go of your desire before it will show up in your life. But I tend to differ.

Here's why...

We are always creating our reality.


Everything that is around you in your life has been created by you. For example, if you are struggling to pay your bills then you have created this reality by focusing on it and feeling negative emotion. You probably did this a lot. At no point did you 'let go' of feeling negative emotions and worry, but you still manifested that reality.

Manifestation happens all the time. What we think about we bring about.


Of course there is a caveat to this. The emotions that you feel when you think about your desire determine whether you are attracting it or pushing it away.

So if you think about your desire and you worry that you don't have it yet then you are now manifesting something different...

You are now manifesting the lack of whatever is that you wanted. 

But if you think about your desire and feel excited and happy and you  look forward to it turning up in your life, then your thoughts are making it come more quickly.

I think it's silly to try and not think about something that you want to manifest. In fact, in many cases it's almost impossible. If you are trying to manifest something that is important to you then you will probably think about it all of the time.

The problem isn't that you're thinking about it...

The problem is the way that you're thinking about it, and the emotions you are feeling.

Knowing this means that you don't have to worry about thinking about your desire before it appears in your life. It's going to happen. You're going to think about the things that you want to manifest. If you are worried that when you think about them it means that you are no longer attracting them then you will feel negative emotions and it's those emotions the push your desire away, not the fact that you thought about it.

Imagine Your Manifestation is an Arrow Flying Towards a Target


While you are waiting for your manifestation to show up,
positive thoughts about it will speed it up! It's OK to not "Let Go"!

I like to imagine that when I choose something to manifest my 'letting go' process is like shooting an arrow into a target. I know that the arrow takes time to fly through the air before it hits the target. During that time if I think about my desire in a negative way or worry that it hasn't shown up yet, my thoughts are like a cross-wind that blows the arrow off target.

My arrow will still hit something. And whatever it hits is what I will manifest. Usually the lack of whatever it is that I wanted. (That is still a manifestation)

However, if I think about my desire while the arrow is flying through the air and I feel really good then my thoughts will make the arrow fly faster and whatever it is that I desire will show up in my life quicker.

The more I think about my desire in a positive way while feeling positive emotions the faster it will show up in my life. The idea that thinking about your desire alone causes it to not manifest is ridiculous. If that were so then we would never automatically manifest things in our lives that we think about on a daily basis, yet this happens all of the time.

The law of attraction is always listening to our thoughts our focus and our emotions. What we think about, good or bad, will manifest in our life. The more we think about it the quicker it will show up.
